While you can always be sure to find a signature Big Mac, fries, and Coke on the menu, different countries boast of their own unique menu in addition to the classics.
McDonald’s does quite a good job of adjusting their menus to appeal to local tastes, albeit in their weird form. From McDonald’s Pineapple Oreo McFlurry in Colombia to India’s Spicy Paneer Wraps, McDonald’s menu items around the world are full of surprises. So, whether you’d eat these crazy concoctions or not, is up to you, but they are fun to look at.
We’ve compiled a list of some of the crazy meals on McDonald’s menus around the world. You are either going to love them or hate them.
Pineapple Oreo McFlurry
What do you think about pineapple in your McFlurry ice cream? McDonald’s has proved itself time and time again to be a trendsetter of flavor combos. And McDonald’s Colombia created one of its kind, delicious take on our favorite traditional Oreo McFlurry.
This McFlurry combines tropical pulpy pineapple with the popular crunchy Oreos for a refreshing, chocolate ice cream treat. It may sound a bit strange, but it sure is a big hit in Latin America.
McDonald’s Asian McNoodles
Though McDonald’s capitalizes on classic menu items, the fast food company isn’t scared to hop on some food trends as well. It took inspiration from Asian cuisine and introduced an Asian noodle dish, McNoodles, to their customers in Austria. McNoodles is a stir-fry dish of noodles garnished with curry sauce and served with salad, vegetables, and chicken.
In 2012, the limited-time-only McNoodles was launched into the Austrian market as Asian stir-fried noodles became increasingly popular in Austria. McDonald’s capitalized on the opportunity, and at the same time created more food options for customers.
Big Brekkie Burger
According to McDonald’s Australia, it all begins with a warm, crisp hash brown sandwiched between melting cheese, rasher bacon, and a freshly cracked egg. The breakfast of champions is finished with a 100% Aussie beef patty and a generous dollop of BBQ sauce in between a toasted sesame seed bun.
This inventive and mouthwatering creation will have even the most impatient folks waiting in line for theirs. Before you burst into the nearest McDonald’s, I must warn you that the Big Brekkie burger is only available in McDonald’s New Zealand outlets.
McDonald’s Taro Pie
This could possibly be the weirdest McDonald’s pie filling all over the world. This crispy, rectangular, fruit-filled tartlet is similar to McDonald’s Apple Pie, except that it’s stuffed with chunks of bright purple taro roots.
Taro is a purple tuber that is grown only in the Pacific Islands. Taro pie is sold in McDonald’s Asian markets. Its crust is filled with a blend that’s quite similar to chunky mashed potatoes. It is tasty and definitely worth trying, if not for anything, then for its unusual color.
Apricot Sundae in McDonald’s Turkey
Soft serve ice cream with sweet, apricot syrup topping sounds divine, right? Even more so on a hot, sun-drenched day. This fruity sundae’s syrup is a healthy treat and contains small chunks of apricot fruit. And Turkey residents sure love their apricot topping on a sundae.
The apricot sundae was launched in McDonald’s Turkey as a regular summer treat. Unfortunately, the Apricot Sundae is only available at McDonald’s in Turkey, as per Cosmopolitan.
EBI Filet-O Shrimp Burger
Who says a burger should only be made of beef? Not so with this Japanese patty of battered, whole, white leg shrimp. The EBI Filet-O Shrimp burger is a pastry stuffed with EBI shrimp and panko battered and fried shrimp, topped on a sesame bun with tempura sauce, mustard, minced onion, and lettuce.
Japanese model Yuri Ebihara, who assisted in the promotion of the release of the burger, gave The Ebi Filet-O Shrimp its name. The panko-crusted shrimp patty is complemented by shrimp tempura sauce, mustard, and lettuce. This is arguably the best burger choice of McDonald’s Japan customers.
The Germans McNürnburger
The Germans definitely know their bratwurst burger, and this McDonald’s creation is an embodiment of the iconic dish of the Germans. The idea and name of the dish, McNürnburger, was gotten from former German star football player and sausage factory owner Uli Hoeneß.
With McNürnburger, you get yourself nothing less than three bratwursts stuffed inside a bun with a generous smothering of mustard and fried onions. The name McNürnburger is a play on the famous German Nürnberger sausages. Regrettably, as good as the pun was, the sandwich was sold for only 3 months.
Chicken McDo with Spaghetti
Sometimes going to McDonald’s is just all about fulfilling your craving. So, can you imagine being able to satisfy your craving of both spaghetti and fried chicken at the same time by heading to McDonald’s? Very Possible! All you need do is choose the Spaghetti Value Meal.
This sauce-doused spaghetti dish in McDonald’s Philippines is a combination of fried chicken drumstick and spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and shredded cheese.
The Prosperity Burger
Here’s a McDonald’s burger that looks oddly like a McRib. However, this beef or hash brown patty comes with black spicy pepper sauce and onions on a bun. Oh, a big serving of prosperity as well?
Kudos to McDonald’s marketing team, for showing that a McDonald’s burger can be named without using the prefix “Mc.”
Chicha Purple Temptation
Here’s McDonald’s Peru blue, decadent dessert. Surely, McDonald’s is full of surprises. For one, this purple temptation looks like it belongs behind a charming, old-fashioned pastry shop window, rather than in the refrigerator of a fast food chain. Tempting, yeah?
Plus, it doesn’t get its wild color from dyes, but from blue corn. This blue corn is a part of an antioxidant-rich beverage chicha morada, in Latin America. The beverage is a sweet, refreshing drink that involves simmering blue corncobs with cinnamon, pineapple rinds, lime juice, and cloves, and we guess this dessert has a similar taste.
McShrimp in McDonald’s Russia
Looking for shrimps in Russia as a side dish option? At McDonald’s Russia, you can order breaded, fried shrimp as a side option. McShrimp is a genius creation of battered shrimp that’s served up in their traditional bun.
The fast-food chain offers this breaded shrimp side option as an alternative to fries. This side dish is indeed worth trying out.
Bubblegum Squash McFlurry
This McDonald’s New Zealand Bubblegum Squash McFlurry is the dream of any marshmallow addict – maybe bubblegum addicts as well. The soft serve ice cream is a mix of marshmallows and bubblegum-flavored syrup toppings. If you’re a fan of Fear Factor-style dining, then this sweet, frighteningly pink and blue McFlurry flavor is for you.
Those bubblegum syrup twirls look juicy and delicious beneath the marshmallows. Oh, and just in case you have your reservations – don’t panic – no real squashes were hurt in the making of this soft serve.
Rice McWraps
McDonald’s China adds a bit of local flavor to its menu with their special Rice McWraps. The flour tortilla is wrapped around beef or crispy chicken burger, BBQ sauce, salad, mushroom and a filling of sesame-flavored glutinous rice from Tainan.
The feel of the Tainan rice is quite tender and has an al dente-like chew to it. It’s all wrapped up and ready for you to savor its nutritional goodness.

South America is home to many delicious dishes, and the McDonald’s Desayuno Especial Mexicano is one of them. Desayuno Especial Mexicano is a great way to start the day featuring a spicy combination of scrambled eggs, sausage, and McMolletes, with English muffins.
Each of these muffins is each is topped with refried beans, cheese, and salsa. This meal is perfect by every standard! And by the way, we will be heading to Mexico to try a fantastic meal out.
Pao de Queijo

This is a classic chicken burger topped with a gooey round of melting Camembert. While being our favorite, it is perfect for lunch or after work treat.

The Belgo Burger
This burger can only be found in Belgium. It is uniquely covered in with grilled onions, salad, and bacon. The two ingredients that make it the number one choice burger are the cocktail sauce and the Maredsous cheese responsible for its deserved richness.
Also known as the Belgo burger, it is quite hand handful and will definitely leave you with a satisfactory feeling.
McKřen in the Czech Republic
The McKren sandwich is all about sass, sizzle, and savory flavors which is what McDonald’s offers in the Czech Republic. If you love the taste and flavor of juicy pork, then this sandwich is perfect for you.
All in a soft bun, you will find 2 juicy pork burgers perfectly grilled and topped with freshly sliced tomatoes on the first layer. The 2nd layer is topped with a thick slathering of spicy horseradish sauce that will get your taste buds tingling.
McFlurry Toblerone in Denmark
The McFlurry Toblerone is an excellent meal created by McDonald’s for people in Denmark. It is a must buy for those who love chocolates. This chocolate meal features nougat, almonds, and honey which are crushed together and placed in a cup with vanilla ice cream.

Tzaziki McWrap
Straight from Hungary comes the McWrap: Seasoned pork burger, cream cheese, red and yellow pepper, onions, cucumber slices, lettuce, and a Greek sauce, all wrapped in a tortilla.

McKroket – Netherlands
This is a Dutch treat called the McKroket. It is probably the best Dutch’s contribution to the modern world of fast food and quick service high-calorie meals. McKroket has a delicious and deep-fried look that will draw you closer when you see it.
It is essentially a beef ragout that’s breaded and fried, topped with a mustard sauce, and served in a bun. Remember to always eat it with mayo-drenched Vlaamse Frites.
Ciabatta Kebab – Israel
Juicy Beef patties grilled on charcoal and served with lettuce and tomatoes on a tasty ciabatta bun. Israel is one of the 2 countries (2nd is Argentina) where McDonald’s grills their burgers on charcoal instead of frying them!!
The ciabatta Kebab is outrageously yummy and can be enjoyed better with a cocktail drink or iced tea.
McDonald’s Mandise in Morocco
There is no way I will deceive you, this chocolate filled dessert is very delicious. The Mandise is a sponge cake stuffed with chocolate chips and a creamy hazelnut fondant.
I ate the mandise just recently, and it has won my heart. You can find it at McDonald’s locations in Morocco. Imagine a lava cake and a chocolate chip cookie mixed together. It is a combination you need to try
The Peasant Soup – Portugal
Peasant Soup is a special dish in Portugal, which is why it was added to McDonald’s menu. The soup comprises of kidney beans, ham, pasta, and olive oil. Just like the name sounds, it is a nice, hearty, traditional dish.
Visit McDonald’s in Portugal for a lovely treat and enjoy yourself. You can also get soup in McDonald’s menu in Spain.
Fried Prawn Cocktail
You would have probably thought that the last place to find prawns is McDonald’s —especially when paired with the classic cocktail sauce. This is in a bid to let you know that you can find the classic combination of prawns and cocktail sauce at McDonald’s locations in Russia
If you have it mind to get something a different at McDonald’s than the normal burger and fries, Russia has you covered with their deep-fried cocktail party staple.
McSbrinz
The Swiss are known for 2 things: their private banks and one in town McDonald’s menu items. The McSbrinz sandwich is made of beef, 3 rolls of Swizz Sbrinz cheese, and served alongside lettuce and Sbrinz sauce.
If you find yourself in Switzerland, make sure you treat yourself with these cute little rolls of cheese as they are a delight to have.
Poutine
For those that have been to Canada, I am sure you have heard of this wonderfully delicious fries, gravy and cheese curd combo. Well, McDonald’s is also offering this staple to its Canadian restaurants.
Poutine is a dish that consists of French fries and cheese curds topped with brown gravy. It is so delicious that it can activate your appetite making you eat more. Poutine is the ultimate late-night snack when you are seeing a movie or hanging out with friends.
Gratin Croquette Burger
This Japanese favorite is similar to the McRib sandwich in the sense that it is not available every time of the year. In Japan, this goodie can only be bought during the winter months. The “burger” is made up of a macaroni croquette and fried crab.
The outside of this burger is nice and crisp, while the inside comes with a smooth and creamy blending of the textures. The croquette is usually served on a lettuce bed, coupled with cheese and sauce on a steamed bun.
Canada’s McLobster
As if maple bacon poutine wasn’t enough, Mcdonald’s Canada also thought it’d be a good idea to add a lobster roll sandwich to their menu. Ladies and gentlemen, the McDonald’s tasty McLobster is only available at McDonald’s restaurants in Canada.
It is rarely available. So if you get to find it on the menu list, you should give it a try. The lobster piece is served along with crisp lettuce, tartar sauce and mayonnaise on a plain, no-frills bun. It’s mouthwatering tasty.
